A guide to borrowing items from Lemieux Library, Summit and InterLibrary Loan

Overdue Fines

All patrons of the Lemieux Library are responsible for knowing when their items are due, and returning them on time. Overdue notices are sent via your Seattle University e-mail account as a courtesy. Failure to receive an overdue notice does not exempt you from any charges or account blocks that result from keeping items past due. If your contact information changes, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate university offices and the library.

Overdue Fines will be assessed on Lemieux Course Reserves items, Equipment (such as laptops), Summit, and InterLibrary Loan materials.

Lemieux Course Reserves - 1 hour, 4 hour, and 24 hour Up to $1.00 per item, per hour 
Lemieux Course Reserves - 3 day Up to $6.00 per item, per day
Laptops - 3 hour $10.00 per item, per hour
Summit Materials $.50 per item, per day for first 10 days. $1.00 per item, per day for subsequent days 
Interlibrary Loan Materials $.50 per item, per day for first 10 days. $1.00 per item, per day for subsequent days

Lost and Damaged Charges

Lemieux Library, Summit and Interlibrary Loan items 15 days overdue are deemed Lost and charges will be assessed to your account.

For InterLibrary Loan items additional charges may be assessed to your account after a bill is received from the lending library.

Interlibrary Loan materials Charge determined by lending library - minimum $90.00 per item 
Lemieux Library laptops $1500.00 per item


We regret that we are unable to accept new or used replacement copies of lost or damaged items in lieu of payment.


Unpaid charges (of any amount) can result in the suspension or cancelation of library privileges, and/or blocks on registration, transcripts, and diplomas.

Payments may be made in cash, by check or by money order. Payments are accepted at the Lemieux Library Circulation Desk, or can be mailed to:
