Course Reserves

Course Reserves are materials placed on short-term loan by Faculty for use by students in their class. These pages explain how to use Reserves services for both faculty and students.

Finding & Using Reserve Materials

NOTE: We have a new Primo search interface, released September 18, 2018. We are in the process of updating our screenshots below. If you need assistance searching our online catalog for Reserve items, please visit or call the Circulation desk at (206) 296-6233.

To search for a Course Reserve item, you can click on the Course Reserves link on the library main page:

or click on the "Course Reserves" tab in Primo:

Then search by instructor, course name, or course number. Course reserve items may be requested at the library's Circulation Desk, where library staff will locate them by call #

Reserve items may be checked out for a loan period of 1, 4, 24 hours or 3 days. The loan period is determined by the faculty member who placed the items on Reserve. Reserve items should be returned to a staff member at the Lemieux Library 3rd floor Circulation Desk in order to avoid overdue fines. The fines/fees for Reserve items are:

Item Type    Overdue Fine
Lemieux Course Reserves - 1 hour, 4 hour, and 24 hour Up to $1.00 per item, per hour
Lemieux Course Reserves - 3 day Up to $6.00 per item, per day
