Access to resources and services

All visitors

All visitors to the Lemieux Library & McGoldrick Learning Commons, who abide by our Access to the library and Expectations of Library Users policies, may make use of our facility in the manner outlined in those documents.

Alumni visitors

Seattle University Alumni have additional privileges and access, including the ability to request Alumni borrowing privileges as outlined in our borrowing policies. Additionally, on two dedicated workstations in the library, alumni may search and browse for content in selected databases, including 28 licensed Ebscohost databases, Proquest databases, JSTOR, Project Muse, and the Foundation Directory. The workstations are located on the second floor of the Lemieux Library & McGoldrick Learning commons, and are available only during hours the library is open.

Summit Visiting Patrons

Students, faculty, and staff who are currently enrolled or employed at another Orbis Cascade Alliance institution may have borrowing privileges when they visit the Lemieux Library & McGoldrick Learning Commons. Visiting Patron services includes borrowing materials from generally circulating collections and making Summit requests. Summit Visiting Patrons may not request materials through Lemieux Library's Interlibrary Loan services.

Visiting Faculty Affiliates

Visitors who have been granted an Affiliate Faculty appointment by a College or School may make use of all services and resources of the Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons, in the same manner in which they are offered to current and emeritus faculty of the University. Affiliate Faculty appointments are not sponsored or approved through the library. Contact the Faculty Services office for more details on this program.
